Were has our newsletter been???
Right here! This past year has been the busiest I can remember in our eighteen years in business. It was my intention to keep this newsletter going monthly but with all the awesome work, travel and new projects going on at the shop, I been lacking. BUT I’m making a new commitment to do it again, at least for this month!
As I said the shop has been extremely busy and there is no sign of slowing down, our new scheduling arrangement has been working out great and we have been able to get our clients in without the many months of waiting (at least most of you).
Lots of art work going on. In the past newsletters I spoke of big changes and yes there still in the works, I’ll let you all know with some quick news pages as it all gets closer.
Here’s a little bit of exciting news……..
Body Piercing will be back at Midnight Moon by the first of the year, Michaela from California will be moving in to take care of all your piercing needs. She is around the shop a few days a week if you want to send her a message or stop in and meet her. Michaela plans on having everything set up and shipped in by the New Year, She may be able to do some work with you earlier if you get in touch with her at the shop, nhtattoo@gmail.com .
O yea, don’t forget to give the ones you love a Midnight Moon Gift Certificate for the holiday season or any time for that matter. Just give us a call with your information and we will send it out that day.
Hope to see you all soon and have a great Holiday.

Mat’s news to report

As all you people waiting for me to get to your drawing know, I been very busy in and out of the shop. My travel schedule is being put together for the coming year, So far you’ll find me in February in Philly and Detroit, (two of my favorite cities) then off to Columbus, Baltimore, Copenhagen and back to Amsterdam in the following months and then I’ll be finishing it off in Colorado for the Paradise tattoo arts convention. I am sure there will be some trips added in between and a few stops around the country to visit some tattoo friends but so far it’s looking like a fun travel year to come.
I have been involved with some very large tattoo projects going on with some very dedicated clients, Chris has a nice Tiger back piece in the works, as does Jay with his underwater sleeve, Dan’s Octopus covering his chest and whole upper arm is outlined and soon to be starting color, Carrie’s ocean scene is almost done as is Ben’s Koi fish sleeve. There are many more in progress and they have all been multiple sitting tattoos so I have no recent finished photos but I’ll get them out there as the get completed…. and when I learn to use my camera.
I am back to machine building for you interested tattooers, a limited edition of
Seven color machines will be done at the beginning of the New Year. Pros only, (and I do check you out). Message me for more information.
I also have been featured with a thirteen page spread in the current issue of International Tattoo Art Magazine , I personally haven’t seen it yet, I haven’t been able to find it anywhere but I have been told its out now, so please let me know if you see it, maybe your work is in there?
Other than that its work as usual, lots of drawings, tattooing of course, planning for the great future to come, O yea, I got some prints coming out in the next few months and maybe a few other art projects. Please keep an eye on the shops website or my personal website, mathewclarke.com for all that good stuff.
Well that’s all for now. I hope your all doing great and thanks for reading. – Mat

Audi’s word

It’s been awhile since Mat put together a newsletter, but that lets you know how busy the summer has been! We really had a great summer;
staying busy with tattoo projects, clients new and old, throw in a a few conventions and we still found time to explore new things.
My own personal new endeavor has been exploring oil painting, and through it helping to push my tattooing further. It’s funny, I took classes in oil painting 10 years ago and struggled with it, and while
it’s not easy now it makes more sense than it did before. The nice
thing is it gives me a chance to try new things, concepts, and ways of
rendering in a way that’s quick and forgiving – there’s definitely
room for experimentation that you just don’t get in an actual tattoo.
Plus, it’s a lot of fun!
Now that the weather’s cooling off, the summer tourists have gone and
there may be a little extra time to spend on new tattoos and ideas,
but I think that’s what I thought would happen last winter, and I had
the busiest winter season I’d ever had to date. Oh well, it’s all a
good time!
